1 Thessalonians 2:13 "For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe."

These train wrecks have occurred because the commentators have approached the Bible with their hearts filled with unbelief in the spiritual things of God, which is the very same way that the scholars have approached the Bible … with their hearts filled with unbelief in the existence of a supernatural BOOK that is perfect … all the while they were pursuing their money-making productions of the New Age translations [over two hundred of them since 1885 A.D.].
Therefore, when a man decides to live by bread alone without God, and without God’s words, he falls prey to the power of darkness [Colossians 1:13].
In other words, he makes himself vulnerable to the wiles of the Devil.

So for John to see that these five kings in the book of Revelation, chapter seventeen, verse ten, were already fallen [past tense] meant he was looking back in the spirit from a time that is still future … even future to us who are alive on this earth today.
