The Army of the Supernatural Horsemen in the Book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ
Psalms 12:6-7 "The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever."
1 Thessalonians 2:13 "For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe."

The Book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ - Chapter Nine, Verse Sixteen
Verse sixteen: “And the number of the army of
the horsemen were two hundred thousand
thousand: and I heard the number of them.”
[Revelation 9:16]
The Number
The number is two hundred
thousand-thousand.
Two hundred thousand-thousand is equal to
two hundred million!
This army of two hundred million horsemen
will cross over the Euphrates on dry ground, which
will enable the rendezvous at the designated
meeting place for the grand finale at the end
of the Great Tribulation.
“I saw the horses in the vision…”
John in the spirit sees the horses, and their riders, through a vision.
This ability to see the horses
is just as he was able to see a throne, and the
one who sat on the throne in Revelation chapter
four, verse two:
“And immediately I was in
the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven,
and one sat on the throne.” [Revelation
4:2]
A vision [or a revelation] is a supernatural view of a future event.
He sees [in the vision] the breastplates on the riders of those horses. Notice here: The breastplates of these supernatural horsemen are that of fire, of jacinth, and of brimstone.
First: There is fire in the breastplates.
Fire devours. It consumes.
This fire comes from the LORD out from
Heaven. [For this reference see Genesis 19:24]
Then, second: There is jacinth in the
breastplates.
Jacinth is a crystal with a
distinct form of a four-sided prism.
Its prevailing color is a hyacinth red, which
the red is more, or less tinged with yellow, or
brown. It is also sometimes transparent, and
is sometimes only translucent.
Now consider this:
In the book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ,
chapter twenty-one, in verse ten, we see a city:
“And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and
high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the
holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,”
[Revelation 21:10].
The foundation of this city has its
eleventh foundation … jacinth.
Now, look down to verse twenty to see this:
“The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the
seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a
topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a
jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.” [Revelation
21:20]
Then, lastly, there is brimstone in
those breastplates. Brimstone? Just what
is brimstone?
According to Webster’s dictionary: BRIM'STONE, n.
Brimstone, or Sulphur, is a hard, brittle,
inflammable substance, of a lemon yellow color,
which has no smell, unless heated, and which becomes
negatively electric by heat and friction. It is
found, in great quantities in the neighborhood of
volcanoes.
Brimstone has its origins from deep within
the earth, and presents a sign of desolating
destruction.
The land of Israel from A.D. 70 to A.D. 1948 was
just in such a state.
Why was this so?
Well, THE LORD promised that if His people
Israel turned from Him, then the land
would be cursed with a curse. The very
presence of brimstone in the land of Israel
shows the fulfillment of this prophecy.
This prophecy is found the fifth book of
Moses called Deuteronomy, chapter twenty-nine, verse
twenty-three:
“And that the whole land thereof is
brimstone and salt, and burning, that
it is not sown, nor beareth, nor any grass groweth
therein, like the overthrow of Sodom, and Gomorrah,
Admah, and Zeboim, which the LORD overthrew in his
anger, and in his wrath:” [Deuteronomy 29:23].
Back to verse seventeen:
“And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and
them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire,
and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of
the horses were as the heads of lions; and
out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and
brimstone.” [Revelation 9:17]
Heads of Lions
Now, let’s look at all these horsemen a
little bit closer. These horsemen [here
in the book of Revelation] are both literal,
and yet, they are supernatural. These
horsemen are a confluence of literal
men from the peoples of the east with the
supernatural locusts currently being held
in the bottomless pit.
What is more than that, these supernatural
locusts are devils.
Remember this from our earlier description of
these creatures. We will list them
again:
1.
These locust horsemen have been
infused with the power of scorpions, and are
likened to horses with crowns on their heads.
2.
These locust horsemen have faces
that appear to have the faces of men with the hair
of women.
3.
These locust horsemen have teeth
as the teeth of lions.
4.
These locust horsemen have been
equipped with breastplates.
5.
These locust horsemen have wings.
They can fly!
6.
These locust horsemen have tails
like a scorpion with stingers!
7.
These locust horsemen … are for
warfare.
8.
These locust horsemen were angels
before they fell.
Therefore, these locust horsemen are
devils.
Now, these devils in the pit will go
into these 200 million men from the peoples
of the east.
These men will literally be possessed by
the wicked spirits from this bottomless
pit, and will be driven to their very
destruction in the place called Armageddon … in
similitude to the swine that were destroyed,
which is shown by the record in the BIBLE [in
the Gospels of Jesus Christ].
For one of these Gospel records, we will
turn to the Gospel according to Mark, chapter five,
and read from verses eleven through sixteen:
“Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a
great herd of swine feeding.
And all the devils besought him, saying, Send
us into the swine, that we may enter into them.
And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the
unclean spirits went out, and entered into the
swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place
into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and
were choked in the sea.
And they that fed the swine fled, and told
it in the city, and in the country. And they
went out to see what it was that was done.
And they that saw it told them how it
befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and
also concerning the swine.” [Mark
5:11-16]
The Scripture very clearly here, illustrates this
phenomenon that will happen to the peoples
of the kings of the east. These
hordes of the east will be amalgamation
of men and devils.
In short, these devils will come up out of
the bottomless pit, and will enter into the
men that are traveling west from eastern
Asia, as they pass over this opening to the
bottomless pit.
Verse eighteen: “By these three was the third
part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke,
and by the brimstone, which issued out of their
mouths.” [Revelation 9:18]
“By these three…”
By the fire, by the smoke, and by brimstone,
they were killed.
Can it even be possible to comprehend with
the human mind of so many people dying from the
fire, the smoke, and the brimstone, that shoots
forth out the mouths of these creatures?
Thus, we give pause here to a sober
thought. A third of the inhabitants of
the earth … die horrible deaths … all at once.
“…the third part…”
This phrase “the
third part” appears seven times in the book of the
Revelation of Jesus Christ.
1.
“…of trees burnt up…”
Early in the Trumpet
Judgments the third part of the trees on the earth
were burnt up:
Revelation 8:7: “The first angel sounded, and
there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and
they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of
trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt
up.”
2.
“…the sea became blood.”
Next, in the Trumpet
Judgments, the third part of the sea became
blood:
Revelation 8:8: “And the second angel
sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning
with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part
of the sea became blood;”
3.
“…creatures in the sea died…”
“…ships destroyed…”
Then next, in the
Trumpet Judgments, the third part of the creatures
in the sea died, and the third part of the ships in
the sea were destroyed.
Revelation
8:9: “And the third part of the creatures which
were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third
part of the ships were destroyed.”
4.
“…the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters”
Again, in the Trumpet
Judgments the third part of the rivers, and
the sources of water were smashed by a fallen star:
Revelation 8:10: “And the third angel
sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven,
burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the
third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of
waters;”
5.
“…the waters became wormwood”
Continuing in the
Trumpet Judgments, the third part of these
waters were poisoned:
Revelation 8:11: “And the name of the star is
called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters
became wormwood; and many men died of the waters,
because they were made bitter.”
6.
“…the sun was smitten, and the third part
of the moon, and the third part of the stars”
Again continuing in
the Trumpet Judgments, the third part of the
sun, the moon and the stars were all smitten:
Revelation 8:12: “And the fourth angel
sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten,
and the third part of the moon, and the third part
of the stars; so as the third part of them was
darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of
it, and the night likewise.”
“The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches”
The dragon, who is THE DEVIL, who is Satan,
casts the third part of the stars of heaven to the
earth.
Now these stars are angels according to the book
of Revelation, chapter one, verse twenty:
“The mystery of the seven stars which thou
sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden
candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the
seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which
thou sawest are the seven churches.” [Revelation
1:20]
The seven stars are the angels!
Revelation 12:4: “And his tail drew the third
part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to
the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman
which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her
child as soon as it was born.”
Massive carnage and total destruction are in store for the inhabitants of this world. Woe to the earth! Woe to the earth! Woe to the earth! Consider it, if you can handle it:
1.
1/3 of the trees are burnt up.
2.
1/3 of the sea turns to blood.
3.
1/3 of the creatures in
the sea die.
4.
1/3 of the ships are destroyed.
5.
1/3 of the rivers [including the sources
of water] are obliterated by a fallen
star.
6.
1/3 of the waters on the earth are
poisoned.
7.
1/3 of the sun is smitten.
8.
1/3 of the moon is smitten.
9.
1/3 of the stars are smitten.
10.
1/3 of the angels [devils] flung down to the earth.
This whole thing involves a mind-goggling
devastation such is beyond human comprehension.
By the time we get to the very last day,
of the very last month, of the forty-two
months of the Great tribulation only one third of
the Jewish nation will be left to enter into
millennial reign of Jesus Christ here on this
earth. Read for this in the book Zechariah,
the prophet, in chapter thirteen, verse seven
through nine:
“Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and
against the man that is my fellow, saith the
LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep
shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon
the little ones.
And it shall come to pass, that in all
the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be
cut off and die; but the third shall be left
therein.
And I will bring the third part through the
fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and
will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on
my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is
my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my
God.” [Zechariah 13:7-9]
1/3 saved!
This will be Jacob’s trial!
Jeremiah 30:7: “Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.”
Verse nineteen: “For their power is in their
mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were
like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them
they do hurt.” [Revelation 9:19]
The two sources of the power in these
locust horsemen is in their mouth and
in their tails. First, they have
a mouth full of massive teeth as the teeth
of lions. Second, they have tails
like a scorpion, or as a serpent, with
stinging stingers in their tails!
“…and with them they do hurt.”
To hurt someone is to
harm someone, and to commit injury to
someone’s body, to someone’s reputation,
or to someone’s property.
The law of first mention
takes us to the first book of Moses called
Genesis, chapter four, verse twenty-three:
“And Lamech said unto his
wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice; ye wives of
Lamech, hearken unto my speech: for I have slain a
man to my wounding, and a young man to my hurt.”
[Genesis 4:23]
Now, killing a person
obviously hurts the person. Their life
is now gone. SIN HURTS! Lamech had
committed sin both to God, and to man.
Lamech committed the ultimate wrong to someone
else. He took a life … a SOUL. The
LORD God said:
“Thou shalt not kill.”
[Exodus 20:13]
But that is not the only
hurt that had occurred. Lamech also,
hurt himself! What can we learn from here?
Lesson: Killing an innocent
man is doing wrong, it will only
wound, or bring hurt. It hurts to be
hurt, no matter if it’s you, or if it is
somebody else.
However, the situation here, in
the book of Revelation, chapter nine, is the hurt
is going to put on the inhabitants of this earth.
These supernatural horsemen are going to put
the hurt on men in slow degrees even their
death.
Verse twenty: “And the rest
of the men which were not killed by these plagues
yet repented not of the works of their hands, that
they should not worship devils, and idols of gold,
and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which
neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:”
[Revelation 9:20]
Modern man worships the
work of their own hands, and, or
devils. It has been this way for nearly
six thousand years.
Man ought to worship God
ONLY.
“…repented not”
A man has his own will. Every man has a free will. This is so basic, and so obvious a truth, to see, that all men have their own will to exercise as they see fit.
God HIMSELF recognizes this so
basic truth: Man has a will!
Now, open your Bible to
the third book of Moses called Leviticus, chapter
nineteen, and read verse five: “And if ye offer a
sacrifice of peace offerings unto the LORD, ye shall
offer it at your own will.” [Leviticus 19:5]
Do you think this [man has a
free will] is consistent through the entire
Bible? Well, what about this one?
Turn now to the Epistle of First Corinthians,
chapter seven, verse thirty-seven:
“Nevertheless he that
standeth stedfast in his heart, having no necessity,
but hath power over his own will, and hath so
decreed in his heart that he will keep his virgin,
doeth well.” [1 Corinthians 7:37]
It is a FACT! All men
have power over their own will.
And therefore, since men
have a free will, they are also responsible for
what they decide to do while they exercise their
will.
“…that they should not worship.”
Now, mankind was created to worship God. And the command to the nation of Israel was inviolate: “For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:” [Exodus 34:14].
Israel was not to worship
devils or idols! It does not go well
for Israel, or for any nation, or for any person, to
reject God, and the words of God, and turn to
idolatry. Woe to that person, or to that
nation!
Verse twenty-one: “Neither
repented they of their murders, nor of their
sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their
thefts.” [Revelation 9:21]
“…repented”
Forty-eight years ago … in 1973
… I was a sailor in the United States Navy.
Little did I know … or even
sense at the time … the direction my life was moving
in.
I did not know what time it
was in God’s clock, nor where I was going in
this life, or for that matter, in eternity.
Now, what was my true state?
According to the BOOK of God I was a servant of
sin, DEAD in my sins, and was heading to HELL.
I was in a free fall to my destruction.
Then the Spirit of GOD
interrupted my life, and sent his MESSAGE to me
by his Messenger.
He used a man … a Bible
BELIEVER who SOWED the MESSAGE of his GOSPEL of the
GOOD NEWS that Jesus Christ died in my place for my
sins, and that I needed to REPENT, and put my TRUST
in the shed BLOOD of the SON of GOD for SALVATION
from the WRATH of God that is soon to be revealed.
Faith in the Son of God, WHO is Jesus
Christ, changed my life … by giving me
ETERNAL life.
This whole scenario of
what happened to me is accurately described in the
Bible in the Epistle of Paul to the Ephesians,
chapter two, verses one through seven:
“And you hath he
quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
Wherein in time past ye
walked according to the course of this world,
according to the prince of the power of the air, the
spirit that now worketh in the children of
disobedience:
Among whom also we all had
our conversation in times past in the lusts of our
flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of
the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath,
even as others.
But God, who is rich in
mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
Even when we were dead in
sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by
grace ye are saved;)
And hath raised us up
together, and made us sit together in
heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
That in the ages to come he
might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in
his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.”
[Ephesians 2:1-7]
Now, repentance and
faith are integral, and is like a coin
having heads on one side of the coin and
tails on the other side of the coin.
True repentance is
always realized through the presence
of a godly sorrow. This is not a
sorrow like “I got caught”, but is
rather a sorrow: “I offended God”.
This truth is found in the Second Epistle of
Paul to the Corinthians, chapter seven, in verse
ten:
“For godly sorrow worketh
repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but
the sorrow of the world worketh death.” [2
Corinthians 7:10]
I experienced true sorrow,
which brought forth true repentance to salvation
and faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of
God.
What happened to me, needs
to happen to all men everywhere on face of this
planet.
But men everywhere are moving
presently in the wrong direction.
They are hardening:
Proverbs 21:29: “A wicked
man hardeneth his face: but as for the
upright, he directeth his way.”
Observation: This current,
or spirit, working within the inhabitants of
this world is moving them further away from
repentance toward God, and therefore, leaves
them stone-cold to the salvation that
is in Jesus Christ.
Sad, but true!
“Neither repented they of their murders…”
They will not REPENT!
They are hardened by
their sin through the judgments in the Tribulation
just as Pharaoh's heart was hardened by sin
in his dealings with Hebrews: [See this story in the
book of Exodus chapter seven.].
So, as God rolls out these future judgments
in the seven-year Tribulation, that is surely
coming to this planet Earth, men increasingly will
only get harder, and harder in their
hearts against God, and HIS Son, Jesus Christ:
1.
This phenomena: [of the hearts
hardening] is seen in the seven Seal judgments
found in the book of Revelation chapters five and
six.
2.
This phenomena: [of the hearts
hardening] is seen in the seven Trumpet judgments
found in the book of Revelation chapters eight and
eleven.
3.
This phenomena: [of the hearts
hardening] is seen in the seven Vial judgments
found in the book of Revelation chapters fifteen and
nineteen.
To sum this up, the rest of
the men that survived these judgments
have now refused of their own free will to
repent, and would rather give the thumbs down
to Almighty God, and to Lamb of God, Jesus Christ.
It is, as the BOOK says it
is, in the book of Zechariah chapter seven, in
verse twelve:
“Yea, they made their
hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should
hear the law, and the words which the LORD of hosts
hath sent in his spirit by the former prophets:
therefore came a great wrath from the LORD of
hosts.” [Zechariah 7:12]
So, onward we go! The
inhabitants of the earth [the rest of the
men that survived] just grit their teeth,
and stand their ground against the God of
Heaven.
We will now read of this
standoff from the book of Psalm Two.
“Why do the heathen rage,
and the people imagine a vain thing?
The kings of the earth set
themselves, and the rulers take counsel together,
against the LORD, and against his anointed,
saying,
Let us break their bands
asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
He that sitteth in the
heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in
derision.
Then shall he speak unto
them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore
displeasure.” [Psalm 2:1-5]
Here we are. The first
six trumpets [of the Trumpet judgment] have already
sounded by the time we get to the end of the
ninth chapter of the book of the Revelation of Jesus
Christ.
Now, for the book of
Revelation, chapter ten.
Here, the seventh angel is ready to come into the scene. Now, the number seven is the number of completion, and here we have the voice of the seventh angel.
