The Perfect Government
Psalms 12:6-7 "The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever."
1 Thessalonians 2:13 "For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe."

III. The Kingdom of Babylon
God set “a standard” for
the nations in Jeremiah chapter fifty, verse two:
“Declare ye among the nations, and publish, and set
up a standard; publish, and conceal not: say,
Babylon is taken, Bel is confounded, Merodach is
broken in pieces; her idols are confounded, her
images are broken in pieces.” [Jeremiah 50:2]
The most powerful of the
Gentile world kingdoms, “the glory of kingdoms”,
was Babylon under her successive kings: Baladan,
Merodachbaladan, and Nebuchadrezzar.
Though powerful and glorious their
idolatry will bring them to their end: “And
Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the
Chaldees' excellency, shall be as when God overthrew
Sodom and Gomorrah.” [Isaiah 13:19]
When a nation’s king and
kingdom turns away from the light afforded to
them by God, HE will punish them to bring them to
their end every time: “Therefore thus saith the
LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will
punish the king of Babylon and his land, as I have
punished the king of Assyria.” [Jeremiah 50:18]
Conclusion: The most powerful
Gentile nation on this earth had a government which
was a monarchy. A monarch
is a king! A king rules over a
kingdom! If you have an evil
king, you will have an evil kingdom.
We see a pattern being set!
Ever since the days of Noah the
choice form of government for all the nations
was a government of a monarchy.
Again, an evil monarch
will always implement an evil government.
The people suffer. No wonder, men SIN, and SIN
always produces EVIL fruit!
“For all have sinned, and
come short of the glory of God;” [Romans 3:23]
Thus, revealed here is the
Achilles’ heel to the monarchical form of
government. And here it is: When a man
with a fallen sinful nature is king, the
kingdom will certainly in time come to utter
destruction.
Observation: A corrupt
governor will corrupt the people every time.
Sin corrupts absolutely.
