Question. What is prayer?

Answer. It is calling upon God in the name of Christ by the help of the Holy Ghost, according to the will of God.

Prayer is our upward talking to God together with the groanings of the indwelling Spirit of God. “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” [Philippians 4:6-7]

“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” [Romans 8:26]
