“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby”

[1 Peter 2:2]

Question. What is the sin forbidden here?

Answer. To defile ourselves or others with unclean lusts.

Marriage is two (a man and a woman) joined together … “two shall be one flesh”. The antithesis of marriage is adultery. Adultery is in essence the illegal (or immoral) joining of flesh to flesh, which attacks or dissolves the prior existing marriage.

“For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.”

Adultery is one form of a fleshly lust, which will war against the soul of a man or woman. “Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;” [1 Peter 2:11]
